QAPI Regulation Still in Development

CMS recently rolled out a new webpage with QAPI resources.  During the Open Door Forum, CMS officials encouraged providers to begin following the recommendations in these new online materials in order to help establish a continuous quality system in their facilities.  At this time, surveyors are being educated in the QAPI fundamentals but have been instructed to continue following guidelines related to current Quality Assurance regulations until the new regulation is promulgated.  Details on how surveyors will evaluate QAPI programs are still being worked out.
