Governor Signs Law Updating Accessibility Signage
Marking the 24th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, Gov. Cuomo signed legislation that requires all new accessibility signs to include an active logo and to substitute the word "handicapped" with the word "accessible." The new logo shows a person leaning forward and propelling his/her own wheelchair, reflecting an active and capable portayal of people with disabilities. The press release is available here.
