VBP Bootcamps 2.0 Start Oct. 10th!
The Department of Health (DOH) will be presenting Value Based Payment (VBP) Bootcamps across the state in October and November to provide individuals with a deeper dive into specific VBP topics in a classroom-style learning environment. The goal of the learning series is to equip VBP contractors and interested parties such as Managed Care Organizations, Providers, Associations, and Community Based Organizations with the knowledge necessary to implement payment reform. The day-long VBP Bootcamp is designed to be an interactive training session that will give participants a thorough understanding of VBP. A description of the classes held at each session is available here, and a day schedule is here.
The Albany session will be held on Oct. 10th at the Swyer Theatre at the Empire State Plaza Egg. In-person registration is available here and closes Oct. 3rd. This session will be recorded and available by webinar. Those wishing to participate by webinar should not use the registration link above but rather use the webinar registration link that will be circulated shortly.
The other sessions are scheduled for:
- Oct. 18th in New York City at The New York Academy of Medicine, 1216 5th Ave. (Register here by Oct. 11th)
- Oct. 23rd in Lake Placid at the High Peaks Resort, 2384 Saranac Ave. (Register here by Oct. 16th)
- Nov. 3rd in Rochester at the Rochester Radisson Riverside, 120 E Main St.
- Nov. 15th in Uniondale (LI) at the Long Island Marriott, 101 James Doolittle Blvd.
Because the VBP Bootcamps are being considered the "fourth semester" of VBP University, participants are encouraged to review the materials on the state’s VBP University site. The site contains a number of videos and documents organized into three “semesters” that are aimed at familiarizing individuals with different facets of alternative payment arrangements. Those who attend a VBP Bootcamp and have completed all three semester quizzes of VBP University with a passing grade of 80% or higher receive a "VBP University diploma" at the session they attend.
A video providing an overview of VBP University is available here.
