Independent Assessor Implementation Delayed
The Department of Health (DOH) announced that it is delaying the implementation of the Independent Assessment process that will alter how Medicaid recipients are assessed for Personal Care and Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Services. According to the announcement, the additional time will allow the Department to continue to engage with Medicaid managed care organizations, local departments of social services, and other stakeholders to ensure the smoothest transition possible.
DOH has also announced that the date for the third of six operational training sessions has been rescheduled from Wed., Feb. 9th to Wed., Feb. 16th. Please note that the registration links remain the same, as do the webinar times. Any participants already registered should not need to re-register and will receive an updated calendar invite. The training session will cover the Independent Review Panel and Community Health Assessment Variance Processes. If you need to register, the link for the session for managed care plans is here.
Meanwhile, DOH has launched the dedicated Independent Assessment section of its website, available here. The site contains slides from the first two training sessions as well as text of regulatory changes and guidance documents.
