DOH Reminds MLTC Plans of Member Material Review Process

(Dec. 3, 2024) The Department of Health (DOH) Bureau of Managed Long Term Care (BMLTC) is reminding Partially Capitated Managed Long Term Care (MLTCP) and Medicaid Advantage Plus (MAP) plans that all member-facing materials subject to the Department’s review for Medicaid Lines of Business must be submitted to the Member Materials Unit’s mailbox (mltc.docs@health.ny.gov). Member-facing materials include model notices, template letters, marketing materials, summary of benefits, annual notice of change, evidence of coverage, member handbooks, DOH templates, and others. A listing of materials subject to review is available here. The coversheet that plans are asked to use when submitting these materials is here.

DOH notes that while timely submission to the mailbox will help avoid delays, the review of the materials may take up to 60 days.
