CMS Updates Data Submission System for Medicare Advantage and PACE Supplemental Benefits

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced updates to instructions and systems in order to facilitate the submission of data on supplemental benefits in the Medicare Advantage Encounter Data System (EDS). The data submission requirements and updates also apply to Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE programs). Prior to these updates, submission of certain supplemental benefits data was impossible due to missing data elements or incomplete instructions. With the recent updates, all plans and PACE programs will be able to submit their supplemental benefits data into EDS and are required to do so.
