CMS to Host Webinar on New Interoperability Rule
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is hosting an information session on the new Interoperability and Prior Authorization Final Rule on Tues., March 26th at 1 p.m. The final rule was adopted in January to enhance access to health information and streamline prior authorization processes. The rule applies to Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, Child Health Plus, and other government-sponsored programs. The information session is intended to educate patients, providers, and plans about the provisions in the final rule. Registration is available here.
As previously reported here, the rule imposes new application programming interface (API) requirements and new prior authorization standards and time frames for all covered payers.
Questions can be submitted in advance through the registration form. Individuals who register after the event is fully subscribed will receive an email with a link to a recording and transcript of the presentation. Questions on the final rule can be submitted to CMSInteroperability@cms.hhs.gov.
