CMS Issues Various Memos for Medicare Advantage and PACE Plans
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) issued three memoranda for Medicare Advantage plans and Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE programs) last week:
- Contract Year (CY) 2024 “Medicare and You” Handbook – Plan Data Preview: Plans and PACE programs are urged to review their data as early as possible during the preview period – Thurs., Aug. 10, 2023 through Mon., Aug. 14, 2023 (6 p.m. ET) – to ensure that any updates are reflected in materials available to people with Medicare.
- Release of the CY 2024 Crosswalk Verification Functionality in the Health Plan Management System (HPMS): All organizations and sponsors with renewal plans for CY 2024 should verify their HPMS crosswalk data in the Bid Submission module for accuracy and completeness beginning Fri., Aug. 11, 2023, 3 a.m. ET through Fri., Aug. 18, 2023, 5 p.m. ET.
- 2023 Medicare Health Outcomes Survey (HOS) HPMS Update and Availability of HOS and HOS-Modified (HOS-M) Reports and Data: Various reports on Medicare HOS data from 2020-2022 are now available for participating organizations.
In addition, on July 21st, CMS released instructions to PACE organizations and other providers and an associated Medicare Learning Network (MLN) article regarding system changes when a PACE member has an inpatient stay while in the process of disenrolling from PACE.
Plans and PACE organizations are encouraged to review the memoranda and take the requested actions.
