Managed Care and Telehealth Services

For MLTC, MAP and Pace plans, DOH has issued MLTC Policy 13.23: Coverage of Telehealth Services in Managed Long Term Care Plans.  Under the current continuity of care polices, DOH is requiring that plans continue any telehealth services for transitioning patients for 90 days and plans should directly reimburse providers for any telehealth services being provided at the state rate for the affected provider.

Telehealth services are covered when provided by agencies approved by DOH for enrollees who have conditions or clinical circumstances requiring frequent monitoring and when the provision of telehealth services can appropriately reduce the need for more intensive services or institutionalization.
