DOH Managed Care Meeting Covers New Initiatives
The Department of Health's December 10th Managed Care Policy and Planning meeting covered a variety of programmatic updates and new initiatives of interest to long-term/post-acute care providers and plans. The meeting included a discussion of recently-announced FIDA reforms; a presentation on the Community First Choice Option state plan amendment; an update on implementation of value-based payment arrangements; and a discussion of draft regulations implementing telehealth regulations.
Highlights of the meeting, as summarized by LeadingAge New York's attorneys at Hinman Straub, are available here. In addition to the key items described by Hinman Straub, the meeting also included a lively discussion of the draft telehealth regulations. These regulations would implement legislation prohibiting plans from excluding certain telehealth services from coverage. Plans and providers expressed concern that the regulations would prevent plans from continuing to make available telehealth modalities that are not explicitly delineated in the regulations.
