State Releases 2022 Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative RFP
The Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative (ESSHI) Round 7 Request for Proposals (RFP) has been released by New York State.
This round of conditional awards will provide service and operating funding for 1,400 additional units of supportive housing for homeless individuals and families who have one or more disabling conditions or other life challenges, including seniors aged 55 and older who are enrolled in Medicaid and have either a chronic condition, physical disability, or require assistance with one or more instrumental activities of daily living.
Upon receiving a conditional ESSHI award for service and operating funding, applicant organizations are given 24 months to secure the capital necessary to finance the supportive housing project from sources such as the state Homeless Housing and Assistance Corporation (HHAC), the Housing Trust Fund Corporation (HTFC), and the Housing Finance Agency (HFA). Conditional ESSHI awards are made permanent when the capital commitment is secured.
Please visit the Office of Mental Health’s (OMH) website for more information and to view the RFP.
