RECAP: The 2023 Housing Professionals Webinar Series
LeadingAge NY welcomed executives, property and facilities managers, service coordinators, and other affordable senior housing professionals from across New York State and the nation last week for its 2023 Housing Professionals Webinar Series, featuring more than 15 hours of virtual educational programming that highlighted the latest expectations – and opportunities – from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for publicly assisted multifamily senior housing providers.
In addition to outlining best practices for successful inspections, budgeting, and property operations, expert speakers took “deep dives” into complicated issues, like maintaining fair housing compliance in marketing and applications procedures, and provided easy-to-adapt guidance designed for attendees to immediately operationalize in their communities.
The annual LeadingAge NY housing education event has continued to evolve since moving to a virtual platform as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and now allows online participants more opportunity than ever to chat, connect, and serve as an added resource to speakers and one another on shared issues like combating burnout and engaging senior residents.
LeadingAge NY welcomes continued feedback from its affordable senior housing provider membership on this event as well as future educational needs and programming. Members are encouraged to submit any questions, comments, or suggestions to Annalyse Komoroske Denio, Housing Policy Analyst, at akomoroskedenio@leadingageny.org.
