HSRC Webinar Examines Role of Transportation in Improving Housing Stability
On Feb. 27th, the U.S. Housing and Services Resource Center (HSRC) hosted a webinar highlighting effective pathways to build and strengthen partnerships across housing, transportation, aging and disability, and health sectors to help ensure housing stability for older adults and people with disabilities. The webinar slides are available here.
Transportation assistance can help older adults stay engaged in their communities by traveling to the grocery store, medical appointments, social events, and other everyday locations. Building partnerships to help connect residents with safe, local, and affordable transportation options is therefore critical to healthy aging in the community.
This webinar highlighted opportunities and effective pathways to developing these cross-sector collaborations and explored technical assistance resources that can help affordable housing providers build partnerships that support community living for aging residents by expanding their transportation options.
More information on the featured Mountain Line and Flagstaff Shelter Services partnership is available here, and a list of more links and resources shared during the webinar is here.
