LeadingAge National Launches Petition to Support Affordable Senior Housing
On April 20th, LeadingAge National launched a petition to expand and protect affordable senior housing. Please sign the petition to tell Congress that we must invest more in affordable senior housing and reject the President's proposed 22 percent cut to next year's Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) budget. We need to be loud and clear that more affordable housing is needed, and that any cuts to funding that threaten the availability of quality housing for older adults are unacceptable. Sign the Seniors Action Network Petition for Affordable Senior Housing and tell Congress to make older adults a priority! Please forward this information to your networks and encourage them to stand up for affordable housing with you.
To take more action and help shape LeadingAge National's public policy agenda, join us at the LeadingAge NY Annual Conference & Exposition, to be held from May 22nd to 24th in Saratoga Springs, NY. LeadingAge National has established a new national public policy setting process, the most important part of which is a Town Hall Conversation in each state. This first New York Town Hall will be moderated by Loren Ranaletta, former LeadingAge NY Chairman of the Board, and will take place at the Annual Conference on Wed., May 23rd. LeadingAge NY senior staff and members of the Board of Directors will participate to hear directly from you. Your comments will be aggregated to identify the most pressing concerns and emerging issues. Results of the Conversation will be shared with LeadingAge’s Public Policy Committee, Board of Directors, and staff and will be used to set public priorities to better represent your interests and the interests of older adults in Washington, DC. All LeadingAge NY members are urged to attend and share their thoughts.
You may register for the LeadingAge NY Annual Conference & Exposition here, and any questions regarding the content or speakers at the Annual Conference may be directed to Kathy Gormley.
