LeadingAge Affordable Housing and Services Workgroup April Call: Hoarding Disorder Among Older Adults
Join LeadingAge’s Workgroup on Affordable Housing and Services for a discussion on hoarding disorder (HD), which disproportionately impacts older adults, at 1 p.m. on Thurs., April 11th.
During the call, LeadingAge staff and members will compile feedback for a current Request for Information (RFI) from the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging on HD among older adults. The Senate Committee is asking for feedback on the following questions by April 15th:
- How has HD impacted your community, particularly older adults and people with disabilities? If feasible, please share data related to the rate and impact of HD on your organization and community.
- How has HD impacted your organization, particularly in its ability to carry out its mission?
- How has your organization responded to HD, including through establishing any new or unique initiatives? What, if any, challenges has your organization faced while implementing that response?
- How can the federal government help your organization assist older adults and others with HD?
The LeadingAge Affordable Housing and Services Workgroup hosts a standing, monthly call geared toward affordable housing and services providers to discuss issues and updates. Any LeadingAge provider members are welcome. Register here for the Workgroup call (please note that you must be logged into your LeadingAge account for access), or reach out to Juliana Bilowich, LeadingAge’s Director of Housing Operations and Policy, for more information.
