Fourth Round of Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative RFPs Released
The fourth round of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative (ESSHI) has been released. New York will award funding for the development of at least 1,200 new units of supportive housing for persons identified as homeless with special needs, conditions, or other life challenges, with one such additional factor being an individual's status as a senior citizen. This round of funding comes during the fourth year of Governor Andrew Cuomo's five-year commitment to add 6,000 supportive housing units.
Twenty-five percent of ESSHI units will be reserved for high-utilizers of Medicaid. These units will be allocated to projects with 15 or more ESSHI-qualifying individuals that have 30 or more total units.
The ESSHI RFP is available here, and more information may be found here. Any questions should be sent to Carol Swiderski by Sept. 11, 2019.
Proposals are due by 2 p.m. on Sept. 25, 2019.
