Eviction Moratorium Continues Despite Ruling On Feb. 25th, a federal judge in Texas ruled that the federal moratorium on evictions is unconstitutional. The ruling does not include an injunction; the moratorium on evictions for nonpayment of rent remains in effect. However, the decision will bring additional confusion to renters and landlords alike on the issue.

Eviction Moratorium Extended, Treasury Clarifies Emergency Rental Assistance President Biden has extended the CDC’s nationwide eviction moratorium for nonpayment of rent from Jan. 31st until March 31st, and the Treasury has expanded the resources available on its website for the $25 billion Emergency Rental Assistance program authorized by the December 2020 COVID-19 relief bill.
