Senior Housing Symposium in Albany This Thursday
State housing officials, advocates, and senior housing developers and operators will be in Albany this week for a Symposium on Senior Housing, being sponsored by the New York State Association for Affordable Housing (NYSAFAH), with program partners Enterprise Community Partners and LeadingAge New York.
NYSAFAH represents nonprofit and for-profit developers and operators of affordable housing. The organization has made senior housing one of its major priorities for advocacy this year. The Symposium is intended to draw greater attention to the statewide need for a dedicated Senior Housing program to the housed at NYS Homes and Community Renewal (HCR).
NYSAFAH and LeadingAge New York have joined forces with New York Housing Conference, Enterprise Community Partners, LiveOn NY, and UJA Federation, to ask for a $50 million investment in new senior housing over the next five years.
The Symposium will be held at the 30 Pearl Street, Penthouse 1, in Albany, beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Thurs., Jan. 28th. Continental breakfast, and lunch are provided. Cost is $25 for members and $50 for non-members.
