RFP for the 2018 NYS Senior Housing Program Available Now
The Request for Proposals (RFP) and Notice of Funds Availability for New York’s “Senior Housing Program” is available now as part of Homes and Community Renewal’s (HCR) Multifamily Open Window. The funding for this program is part of the historic commitment of $125 million for senior housing in New York. Unlike with Round 1 of this funding, the 2018 RFP is open to New York City applicants. Additionally, up to $50 million is available (an increase from $25 million in 2017). The housing developed under this program is targeted to low-income individuals aged 62 or older and will include healthy aging programming that does not trigger licensure by the Department of Health (DOH).
Applications for the Senior Housing Program may be submitted until all allocations of resources are committed. As part of the Open Window application process, applications will be reviewed as received, and funding determinations will be made throughout the year. The Multifamily Open Window RFP also includes funding for several other programs, and information regarding all of the available funding may be found here. The term sheet for the Senior Housing Program is available here.
More information and education regarding this funding opportunity is forthcoming. LeadingAge NY is planning to have an information/education session, likely via webinar, about the Senior Housing Program. In the meantime, please direct any questions, concerns, or comments about the Senior Housing Program to Sara Neitzel.
