NYS Announces Availability of Funding for Small Rental Housing Development Initiative
(Jan. 7, 2025) NYS Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) announced the availability of up to $6 million for the Small Rental Housing Development Initiative (SRDI). Application materials and the full Request for Applications are available on the HCR website. Applications for awards between $500,000 and $2 million in SRDI funds are due no later than 4 p.m. on Fri., Feb. 14th.
SRDI funds can be used to support small rental development projects, including new construction or substantial or moderate rehabilitation of multi-family rental projects of 4 to 20 units at identified project sites. Not-for-profit corporations or wholly owned subsidiaries of such corporations are eligible to apply to serve as developer owners.
