New York State Consolidated Funding Application Announced

In the May 6 New York State Register under the “Notice of Available Federal and State Funds,” a variety of grant opportunities were announced, several which could assist members with development and rehabilitation projects.

Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) - $25 million. The Office of Community Renewal administers the CDBG program providing financial assistance to eligible cities, towns and villages with populations in order to develop decent, affordable housing, and suitable living environments, as well as expanding economic opportunities, principally for persons of low and moderate income. Members often use CDBG for development and rehabilitation gap financing.

Additional funding programs:

  • New York Main Street - $4 million
  • NYS Energy Research and Development Authority – New Construction Program - $16 million
  • NYS Energy Research and Development Authority – New Construction Program - $16 million
  • Federal Industrial Development Bond Cap - $350 million
