Home Modification Funding Available Through “Access to Home”
Residential property owners, including senior housing operators and other elder care providers, are invited and encouraged to apply for Access to Home, which provides funding for improvements and modifications that keep residents in their homes and out of institutional settings. The application deadline for this and other related Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) rehabilitation programs is Friday, Sep. 25th at 4 p.m.
There is a total of $10 million available for Access to Home: $6 million is reserved for residences occupied by military veterans and $3 million for recipients of Medicaid.
HCR also announced recently the availability of $10 million for housing activities under the Community Development Block Grant Program and $3.9 million for Residential Emergency Services to Offer (Home) Repairs to the Elderly (RESTORE), which provides funding for emergency repairs in homes of low-income elderly residents.
Detailed program requirements and application materials are available on the HCR website.
Please note that all applicants for funding through HCR and other state agencies are required to use HCR’s Community Development OnLine (CDOL) system.
