HCR Announces Free Webinars to Review New Sustainability Guidelines for Multifamily Housing
Last month, New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) released its new Sustainability Guidelines for multifamily housing, which will take effect beginning with the Fall 2022 9 percent Multifamily Finance Request for Proposals (RFP) and on proposals submitted to the 4 percent Bond program following the release of the guidelines.
The new guidelines will apply to both new construction projects and existing buildings and include criteria such as third-party certification programs, high-performance building shells, system and equipment, reduction or removal of fossil fuel-based sources, increased indoor environmental quality, and resiliency measures.
The agency will host a series of free webinars on Wednesdays throughout the month of May to help owners, project developers and managers, architects, and energy management service providers understand and implement the new guidelines. The first session, scheduled for Wed., May 4th from 3 to 4 p.m., will provide a high-level overview of the new guidelines from HCR’s Design and Sustainability teams, with more technical and detailed training planned for the coming weeks:
- May 4th, 3 to 4 p.m. – Training 1: HCR Overview of the New Sustainability Guidelines (Register)
- May 11th, 1 to 2 p.m. – Training 2: HCR Sustainability Guidelines: New Construction Booklet Briefing (Register)
