HCR Announces $72 Million for Affordable Housing Funding Projects

NYS Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) announced $72 million to build affordable housing  across the state through the Unified Funding Application. Funding is available for the following  programs:

  • Low-Income Housing Trust Fund Program (HTF) - $32 million;
  • Federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) - $25 million;
  • The HOME Capital Program - $11 million (subject to availability of appropriations); and 
  • State Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (SLIHC) - $4 million.

The application and reference materials are available on the HCR website. Posted deadlines for  early round projects will be Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, with other project applications due Nov.  29, 2012. Three Unified Funding Application workshops will be held by HCR staff statewide.

The schedule  is as follows: 

  • Rochester: Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012 at 10 a.m.
  • Albany: Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012 at 10 a.m.
  • New York City: Friday, Sept. 21, 2012 at 10:30 a.m.
