Gov. Cuomo has officially announced that $71 million is now available through New York State Homes & Community Renewal (HCR) for shovel-ready projects to build affordable housing units across the state.

The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) unveiled a plan to lease millions of square feet of its property to private developers for mixed-use construction of housing and retail space.

A request for proposals is issued for the Low Income Housing Credit, HOME, Trust Fund and New York State Low Income Housing Tax Credit programs.

NYS Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) announced $72 million to build affordable housing across the state through the Unified Funding Application.

$3 million has been recommended to support capital initiatives and supportive service development in affordable senior housing.

The state has submitted a request to the federal government to reinvest $10 billion of federal savings from the state’s Medicaid Redesign Team (MRT) reforms to restructure New York’s health care system.

NSP3 provides grants to states and local governments to redevelop vacant, foreclosed and abandoned properties into affordable housing, land bank foreclosed homes, and/or demolish blighted structures.

HCR posted the AAP schedule on Aug. 29 NYS Register. The 30-day public comment period will begin Thursday, September 6, 2012 and extend through Fri., Oct. 5, 2012.
