Workshop: Managing Successful Transitions in Senior Living
Special Event for LeadingAge New York Members
Managing Successful Transitions
in Senior Living
A roundtable discussion for nonprofit owners and operators of independent senior housing communities.
Independent senior housing communities allow elders to age safely in their homes, by providing a safe environment, strong social bonds, and access to a variety of services. But housing operators face difficult choices when people become too frail to live independently. Handling these situations while honoring a resident’s rights and preferences can be tricky.
These and related legal issues regarding seniors aging independently will be discussed in this workshop, led by Susan Kayser, Esq., of the firm Duane Morris, LLP. Ms. Kayser has worked with LeadingAge New York members to help them navigate the difficult legal issues regarding transitions in care and related matters. Topics will include:
Policies Regarding Personal Care Aides in Independent Housing
Understanding Independent Living vs. Assisted Living
Innovative Housing with Services Models for Aging in Place
