All HCBS long term care Medicaid programs in New York City, Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester counties will begin activities to  transition to the UAS-NY on Sept. 1, 2013. DOH will conduct a webinar specific to these counties on Aug. 13, 2013.

A provider memo recently issued by DOH contains guidelines and clarifications regarding the use of UAS-NY assessments for non-Medicaid recipients.

LeadingAge NY and several members met with UAS-NY project staff to discuss ongoing program specific concerns.

LeadingAge NY is offering a series of regional workshops, beginning in the Syracuse and Buffalo areas on August 20 and 21 respectively, to help organizations prepare for the business and technology requirements that are associated with the implementation of the UAS-NY system.

DOH will conduct an important webinar on Wed., July 31 to address any questions ALP providers may have concerning the implementation of the Uniform Assessment System for New York (UAS-NY).

DOH sets Aug. 1 target date for UAS-NY implementation in six Hudson Valley counties.

LeadingAge NY's recent audio conference provided members with the latest information about the implementation of the UAS-NY and an opportunity to listen to personal experiences and advice shared by a panel of providers who are currently going through the transition. 

On Tuesday, May 28, 2013, the NYS Department of Health conducted a one-hour webinar on the UAS-NY to provide additional information concerning its statewide implementation.  LeadingAge NY submitted a number of questions and concerns to DOH as part of our ongoing effort to advocate for and support our members as they transition to the UAS-NY.  DOH addressed some of the issues we raised, but many questions remain unanswered.
