DataPoint: Managed Long Term Care Enrollment - December 4, 2012

Nearly 70,000 New Yorkers are currently enrolled in managed long term care plans, with the number growing by 4,000 in each of the past two months.  Medicaid-only (partial capitation) plans are serving 25,000 (67 percent) more enrollees now than one year ago.  Although the bulk of the growth is in the New York City metropolitan area, in the last three months a number of Medicaid-only plans have started serving upstate counties for the first time.  These counties include Chautauqua, Monroe, Cayuga, Onondaga, Oswego, Columbia, Sullivan and Ulster.   Based on November figures, VNS Choice is the largest plan with 15,000 enrollees while Fidelis Care at Home has the widest geographic reach with enrollees in 18 counties.
