Update on Uniform Billing Rate Codes for Home Care

LeadingAge New York, along with other home care associations, continue to meet with the Department of Health (DOH) on the progress in developing uniform billing rate codes for home care.

We submitted proposed home care rate codes to DOH in the summer of 2015 and DOH, in turn, started collaborating with managed care plans on their proposed home care rate codes. DOH has informed us that some revisions will be made to the proposed codes, and they will be shared within the next few weeks. DOH concurred with our suggestion that the codes include home care and delay the waiver services rate codes until later in 2016.

Once consensus is reached on a set of home care rate codes, DOH will provide a timeframe for managed care plans to implement the new codes.

We will continue to keep members posted and share the next batch of rate codes when they become available.
