LeadingAge NY works to ensure home health agencies can provide care management under managed care
LeadingAge NY continues to be actively involved in ensuing that home care agencies and other providers, defined as the "administrator," be able to contract with managed long term care providers for care management services. We have had several calls with various stakeholders and DOH to discuss, develop and refine the Care Management Administrative Services (CMAS) contract and guidelines that would enable this provision. We have worked with our counsel to provide suggested language to ensure that the process will work well for both parties, and have come to some agreements with other stakeholders. The suggested language is now being reviewed by DOH and we hope to see a revised version of the documents within the next couple of weeks. While we have dedicated a lot of effort to this initiative, the target date for the release of these documents has been pushed back as everyone deals with the impact of Hurricane Sandy.
The LeadingAge NY HCBS cabinet was critical in developing input on the CMAS contracting process and has formed a workgroup to examine the Conditions of Participation (CoPs) that would need to be addressed to provide regulatory relief to the contracting process. We will continue to keep members informed as more information is available.
