DOH moving forward on administrative services contracting

DOH moving forward on administrative services contracting - October 2012

Allowing provision for home care agencies to contract with managed long term care providers for care management services has been a key focus of LeadingAge NY advocacy.  DOH is now moving forward with their Care Management Administrative Services (CMAS) Contract Guidelines.

LeadingAge NY, along with other stakeholders, continues to work with DOH as we focus on several key areas still to be resolved.  The LeadingAge NY cabinet was critical in developing our input on the CMAS contracting process, stressing the need for a balance between the interests of each party and allowing the necessary flexibility to ensure that client needs are met.  We will be keeping members posted as DOH has proposed a Nov. 1, 2012 date for release of the final guidelines.
