Care Management Administrative Services (CMAS) Contract - November 2012
Care Management Administrative Services (CMAS) Contract
Allowing provision for home care agencies and others, defined as the “administrator,” to contract with managed long term care providers for care management services has been a key focus of LeadingAge NY advocacy. We continue to work with DOH and other stakeholders in refining the Standard Clauses in the CMAS Contract. There are still a couple of areas that need to be resolved with all of the stakeholders.
The LeadingAge NY HCBS cabinet was critical in developing our input on the CMAS contracting process, stressing the need for a balance between the interests of each party and allowing the necessary flexibility to ensure that client needs are met and the continuity of care policy is being followed. We will be keeping members posted as DOH has proposed Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 date for release of the final guidelines.
