Care Management Administrative Services (CMAS) Contract - December 11, 2012

Last week DOH posted the Care Management Administrative Services (CMAS) Contract Guidelines to allow for the contracting between a Managed Long Term Care (MLTC) plan and home care providers, adult day health programs established under Part 425 of 10 NYCRR, and others.

LeadingAge NY and other associations, including the state Health Plan Association, worked for months drafting a contract that would be balanced and flexible for all.  The majority of our recommendations were included in the final CMAS Guidelines. The entire documents can be viewed here, under MRT 90: Mandatory Enrollment Managed Long Term Care.

LeadingAge NY has reviewed the documents and again reached out to the DOH to discuss issues that need to be clarified. After further clarification is obtained, we will be offering a free audio conference to review the contract language in-depth for those members who want to pursue contracting for care management.
