Status Update on the Home Care Uniform Billing Rate Codes

LeadingAge New York continues to work with the Department of Health (DOH) on finalizing the uniform billing rate codes for home care providers. Establishing uniform billing rate codes for home care and fiscal intermediaries was a direct result of the work from the Home and Community-Based Care work group. This has been an ongoing discussion since June 2015.

Earlier this month, LeadingAge NY sent DOH, and shared with other home care associations, a compressed spreadsheet on all the comments from national and state managed care plans on the home care rate codes. This was an attempt to streamline the process and arrive at a consensus on all the codes. The next step in this process will be for the home care associations to finalize the codes for personal care and report back to DOH. DOH will then work with managed care plans on the final personal care codes.
