Second DOH LHCSA Statistical Workgroup Meeting

LeadingAge NY, along with a member from Fort Hudson Homecare and other stakeholders, participated in another Department of Health (DOH) Licensed Home Care Services Agencies (LHCSA) Statistical Report Workgroup meeting on June 7th. As we previously reported, the goal of the workgroup is to redesign and restructure the report to increase the timely and accurate submission of information by identifying areas of reporting that can be streamlined to increase compliance and accuracy in data reporting.

DOH staff recapped the first meeting, which over 30 stakeholders attended. The workgroup discussion included ways to increase compliance, changes with licensure, and changes to the eight forms. DOH provided an update on enforcement activities to date and what enforcement activities will occur within the next couple of weeks.

During the meeting, Dan Carmody, Director of the Office of Health Insurance Programs' (OHIP) Bureau of Managed Care Reimbursement, called in to provide an overview of the “Provider Reconciliation Cost Report,” a supplemental cost report for minimum wage reconciliation. LeadingAge NY has been asked to submit comments on this report.

A third meeting has been scheduled for July 10th. At this meeting, we will be discussing the alignment of the LHCSA Statistical Report with the Provider Reconciliation Cost Report and the Personal Care Provider Cost Report. The goal is to ensure that the same questions are being asked with the same language and meaning. Members who are interested in aligning the statistical and cost reports should contact me.
