Reminder: LHCSA Statistical Report Due Jan. 31, 2025
(Jan. 21, 2025) Licensed Home Care Services Agencies (LHCSAs) and Assisted Living Program (ALP) LHCSAs are required by the Public Health Law to be registered on an annual basis by the deadline established by the Commissioner of the Department of Health (DOH). That deadline was Dec. 31, 2024. LHCSAs that are not registered may not provide services or receive reimbursement for services.
In response to the time needed to complete the LHCSA Statistical Report, DOH afforded agencies the opportunity for registration for the 2025 year by completing the Health Electronic Response Data System (HERDS) LHCSA Registration Short Form by Dec. 31, 2024. However, registration will not be deemed fully effective until the LHCSA Statistical Report is submitted by the deadline of close of business on Jan. 31, 2025.
Important to note: As of Jan. 1st, the Short Form is now closed. DOH had a strong response, with over 1,500 submissions. However, if a provider did not complete the Short Form or the LHCSA Statistical Report, it should be aware that neither the Short Form nor the LHCSA Statistical Report is now accessible to them for completion. Providers in this situation should reach out to the Department to obtain access and work through the enforcement process.
If providers completed the LHCSA Statistical Report by Dec. 31, 2024, then they are in full compliance with both annual registration and the Statistical Report.
