Revised Audit Protocols for Home Care

The Office of the Medicaid Inspector General (OMIG) has posted two revised audit protocols for Personal Care Aides (PCA) and the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) program.

The PCA audit protocols are the unchanged, but have been extended to include services delivered prior to May 11, 2015. They still cover the range of missing or incomplete documentation, billing, personnel issues, health documentations, training requirements and others.

In July 2015, OMIG posted the TBI audit protocols. LeadingAge NY has asked for clarification on the service dates. They cover a similar range of missing or incomplete documentation, numerous billing issues, personnel, health documentations, training requirements for service providers, spend-downs, and others.

OMIG has informed LeadingAge NY that revised Certified Home Health Agencies (CHHAs)  audit protocols should be posted shortly. LeadingAge New York will notify members when they become available.
