Private Duty Nursing Directory Goes Live
The Department of Health (DOH) has released a Medicaid directory for private duty nurses (PDNs) serving medically fragile children by service area within the state.
As members may know, the 2020-21 State Budget provided an enhanced Medicaid reimbursement rate for PDNs serving medically fragile children requiring continuous skilled nursing care in a non-institutional setting.
The initiative, part of the Medicaid Redesign Team (MRT) II recommendations, allows for enhanced rates for PDNs serving this fragile population if the provider participates in a training and experience component and agrees to be listed in the provider directory. Eligible providers are licensed home care services agencies (LHCSAs) and independently enrolled registered nurses (RNs) and licensed practical nurses (LPNs). Fee enhancements will be regional and will phase in at 15 percent in October 2020, 30 percent in April 2021, and 45 percent in April 2022.
More information on the initiative is available here.
