Comments Submitted on Draft LTHHCP Audit Protocols

Last week LeadingAge NY, along with the New York State Home Care Association and the New York State Health Care Providers, sent a joint memo to the Office of the Medicaid Inspector General (OMIG) outlining our concerns and recommendations on the draft Long Term Home Health Care Program (LTHHCP) audit protocols.  Some of the proposed protocols were similar to the OMIG's audit protocols for Certified Home Health Agencies (CHHAs).  Both of the audit protocols reflect the same time period; services delivered prior to Dec. 31, 2010.  The memo details our broad concerns as well as concerns regarding specific protocols.

LeadingAge NY followed up with OMIG regarding our request to provide an educational webinar on the final CHHA audit protocols, and also suggested the same for the final LTHHCP protocols. We will let members know when these forums are scheduled, and when the LTHHCP audit protocols are finalized.
