CMS Extends LTHHCP

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services ( CMS ) granted DOH another extension of the Long Term Home Health Care Program ( LTHHCP ) waiver . CMS authorized an extension of the waiver to June 29 , 2010 . The waiver was operating under a temporary extension through March 31 .

The department and CMS are still attempting to resolve the spousal budgeting issue through amendment to New Yorks 1115 waiver demonstration program . DOH is also working to extend spousal budgeting protections for participants in the NHTD and TBI waivers . NYAHSA wishes to thank DOH for being a diligent advocate for spousal impoverishment protections .
