Deadline for New EVV Training Requirements Extended to Oct. 1st
The original deadline for the Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) training requirements has been updated and extended. The new deadline for meeting the minimum training requirements has been extended from Aug. 1, 2021 to Oct. 1, 2021.
As a reminder, included in the Program Guidelines and Requirements document on the Department of Health (DOH) EVV website are the minimum training requirements that provider agencies and fiscal intermediaries (FIs) must adhere to when training their EVV system staff and caregivers.
Training requirements are provided in the Guidelines and indicate subjects to cover in training programs, as well as reporting and documentation requirements, documentation attesting to members' understanding of the EVV requirement in the member service plan, and attestation of training. The trainings may be delivered in any format, including instructor-led, webinar, and self-service online training, and must be provided to all users of the system prior to any user submitting EVV data. Training must also include annual refresher courses and training when any changes to an EVV program occur.
EVV training requirements are subject to change based on federal and State requirements. Please review the training requirements in the Program Guidelines and Requirements document. For more information about EVV requirements, please see LeadingAge NY's previous Intelligence articles on the subject here.
