DOH Posts CHHA, Personal Care, and CDPAS Medicaid Reimbursement Rates
The Department of Health (DOH) has posted Medicaid reimbursement rates for Certified Home Health Agencies (CHHAs) (Episodic and Pediatric), Personal Care Services (PCS), and the Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP), effective Oct. 1, 2022, providing for a $2 minimum wage increase for home care aides.
The Dear Administrator Letters (DALs) for CHHA Episodic and Pediatric rates are here and here, and the rates are effective Oct. 1, 2022. The State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2022-23 Enacted Budget provided for a minimum wage increase for home care aides of $2 effective Oct. 1, 2022.
This rate increase was applied to the April 1, 2022 rates available in eMedNY as outlined below:
- Downstate (Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester) CHHA Episodic – 5.25 percent increase
- New York City CHHA Episodic – 5.61 percent increase
- Rest of State CHHA Episodic – 3.56 percent increase
Payments for the Oct. 1, 2022 rates to effectuate the minimum wage increase will be made in Cycle 2356, with a Check Date of Oct. 24, 2022 and a Check Release Date of Nov. 9, 2022.
The DAL outlining the 2022 PCS and CDPAP rates is here. Effective Oct. 1, 2022, the minimum wage rate adjustment for home care aides increased by $2 plus an adjustment for corresponding fringe benefits.
The payments for the Oct. 1, 2022 rates to effectuate the minimum wage increase will be made in Cycle 2356, with a Check Date of Oct. 24, 2022 and a Check Release Date of Nov. 9, 2022.
