DOH Advises Home Care Agencies of Licensure and Requirements for ALRs
ABSTRACT: DAL advises home care agencies to evaluate appropriateness of referrals for residents of congregate care facilities.
A Dear Administrator letter (DAL) has been issued by the Department of Health (DOH) to inform home care agencies of new and existing categories licensure and regulations of adult care and assisted living facilities. The DAL directs home care agencies to be aware of the licensure status of a facility in which a potential patient may reside, and the appropriateness of the referral and services. The DAL includes a list of provider types and references sections of the New York Code of Rules and Regulations.
