2019 Pediatric CHHA and Hospice Residence Rates Available

The Department of Health (DOH) Bureau of Residential Health Care Reimbursement has posted the 2019 rates and Dear Administrator Letters (DALs) for Pediatric Certified Home Health Agencies (CHHAs) and Hospice Residences. The payment for both rate categories will be made in cycle 2195, with a check release date of Oct. 2, 2019. Both rates are retroactive to Jan. 1, 2019.

The CHHA rates, which apply to pediatric cases and are exempt from the Medicaid episodic payment system, pertain to each non-hospital-based CHHA which filed a properly certified, full-year 2017 cost report on a timely basis. Please see this corresponding DAL.  Please note that these rates include the minimum wage adjustment. DOH will post them to the Healthcare Financial Data Gateway on the Health Commerce System (HCS) this week.

It is important to note that the Bureau has transmitted communications directly to the email address provided in each agency's most recent cost report for the organization's Operator or Chief Administrative Officer to ensure proper official notification. Please ensure that the appropriate staff are notified that the rates are available on the DOH website. The CHHA rates are posted here.

Hospice Residence rates can be found here, and the corresponding DAL is available here. These rates include a 10 percent increase authorized annually under the 2018-19 State Budget and also include recruitment, training, and retention add-ons.
