Updated Policy on Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Services Fiscal Intermediaries
The Department of Health (DOH) has released a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document MLTC Policy 15.05 (a) in order to provide further clarification on the requirements found in their original policy release: MLTC Policy 15.05 Clarification on Requirements for Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Service (CDPAS) Fiscal Intermediaries (FI).
Some of the areas addressed in the FAQ include: 1. The process for becoming an FI and obtaining the necessary Medicaid MMIS numbers: 2. The need for FIs to perform criminal history record checks; and 3. Documentation the FI should provide to managed care plans concerning Medicaid MMIS number. Please be sure to review both the original policy document and the FAQ for further details.
LeadingAge New York will continue to seek clarification from DOH on FI issues impacting our members.
