Increasing CHHA capacity – upstate applications and another opportunity for all - September 2012

During the Sept. 20 meeting of the Establishment and Project Review Committee of the Public Health and Health Planning Council (PHHPC), ten Certified Home Health Agency (CHHA) CON applications were recommended for approval to the full PHHPC for their final action on Oct. 11.

CHHA CON applications that were deferred have another opportunity. A Dear Administrator Letter (DAL) dated Sept. 17 was sent to applicants advising them on how to submit clarification or additional information as per the Section VII.D.5 of the RFA.  This opportunity is available until 4 p.m. on Oct. 19. DOH intends to make 30-day extensions available, but organizations requesting extensions may not be reviewed in time for consideration during the November/December PHHPC meeting cycle. Accordingly, DOH has told LeadingAge NY that it is possible that some CHHA applications will be considered in the January/February timeframe.
