Medicaid providers: Remember to do compliance program certification! January 2013
All New York State Medicaid providers who are required to have a compliance program under New York State Social Services Law Section 363-d must certify that their compliance programs are effective. The certification must be completed during the month of December each year. The Social Services Law certification is an online certification that can be accessed on the Office of Medicaid Inspector General (OMIG) website at www.omig.ny.gov by selecting the Compliance tab, then the Certification sub-tab and looking for the form under the heading NYS Mandatory Provider Compliance Programs.
Additionally, if you are a NYS Medicaid provider subject to the Federal Deficit Reduction Act of 2005 (DRA), you must provide a certification that you are meeting the DRA’s requirements. The certification must be completed each year prior to Jan. 1. The DRA certification is an online certification that can be accessed on OMIG’s website at www.omig.ny.gov by selecting the Compliance tab, then the Certification sub-tab and looking for the form under the heading Federal Deficit Reduction Act.
Frequently asked questions and directions are located on the OMIG site. After submitting the necessary certification(s), you will receive a confirmation email. If you have questions about either certification, send an email to compliance@omig.ny.gov.
