OMIG has sent via FedEx Third Party Liability (TPL) Repayment Letters

Please see the Dear Home Health Provider letter that was sent via FedEx earlier this week to all providers who were selected for the first half of the FFY 2013 Traditional Project. This is a follow-up to what LeadingAge NY posted in the beginning of August. This is only for the dates of service from Oct. 1, 2012 thru March 31, 2013. This letter identifies to providers which of their dual-eligible Medicare/Medicaid beneficiaries are required to submit coverage determination to Medicare.

As a reminder, the University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMMS) is under contract with the Office of the Medicaid Inspector General (OMIG) to perform traditional Medicare appeals to ensure providers seek reimbursement from Medicare and all other third party payors before submitting a Medicaid claim. As always, Medicaid is the payor of last resort.

LeadingAge New York has the list of providers and the case count from UMMS; you may contact me by email or by phone to find out if you are on the list.
