Final Interpretive Guidelines Posted for Home Health CoPs

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has released the final Home Health Agency (HHA) Conditions of Participation (CoPs) Interpretive Guidelines. You can review them here. The new Medicare CoP requirements were effective on Jan. 13, 2018, with the exception of the Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) project requirements (effective on July 13, 2018) and the emergency preparedness provisions (effective on Nov. 16, 2017). Agencies were advised to follow the draft guidelines until finalized.
