FFY 2020 Medicare Home Health Maximization Services Initiative
The Office of the Medicaid Inspector General (OMIG) has sent a second Demand Bill letter to selected home health providers to carry out the semi-annual demand billing process for the Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2020 Medicare Home Health Maximization Services Initiative. This process is to ensure that providers seek reimbursement from Medicare and all other third parties before submitting a claim to Medicaid (Section 540.6(e)(1) of Title 18 NYCRR). A sample of the letter is here.
Letters were sent for delivery via UPS on Oct. 19, 2020. All providers who had Episodic Payment System (EPS) home health claims selected for this initiative which fall between Oct. 1, 2019 and March 31, 2020 were issued a copy. The letter serves as an additional reminder that all claims identified in the original Demand Bill Notification letter dated Aug. 31, 2020 must be timely billed to Medicare.
Providers can contact Erin Devaney at 617-886-8219 with any questions they may have.
